CITB Funding
| WHO ARE CITB? |
The CITB stands for Construction Industry Training Board. The CITB provide funding for people currently employed in the Construction Industry to undertake courses at a reduced rate.
Each eligible individual has a CITB card and ID Number, which can be used for a variety of courses which received funding.
| WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING? |
To be eligible for CITB funding, the main criteria is that you are employed in the Construction Industry. Please note however that your job role also plays a part in eligibility. To find out if you are eligible, you will need to apply and you will be notified if your application have been approved or not.
| ARE APPRENTICES ELIGIBLE? |
As several subsidies are provided to Apprentices by the CITB as part of their Apprenticeship, funding for training courses outside an Apprenticeship is limited. Please check with CITB or with us to confirm which courses have funding available to apprentices.
| DO I HAVE CITB FUNDING? |
If you have applied for or have undertaken training in which funding was provided, you may already have a CITB number. The best way to check this is to contact the CITB directly. PIA may also be able to assist you to a certain extent if you are enrolling into one of our courses.
To apply for a CITB card
You will need to go to www.citb.org.au and click on 'CITB ID Card', then click the link at the bottom of the page to apply. You will be directed to a form, in which you will need to submit your details. The CITB will then contact you to let you know if your funding has been approved. This process can take several days.
To refresh your CITB card
If you card has expired, you will need to refresh this in order to be CITB eligible. You will need to go to www.citb.org.au and click on 'CITB ID Card', then click the link at the top of the page to refresh your card. You will then be asked to enter your Date of Birth and CITB number (if you are unsure of your CITB number, please contact the CITB directly). You will then need to check your details and update anything which has changed. The CITB will then review any changes.
*Non CITB eligible participants of training courses will be charged the full course fee.
